COMPLAINTS
The Board of Trustees have a very strict policy and procedural steps to follow on receiving a complaint about the school, one of the staff members or a fellow caregiver/parent. Complaints need to be directed through the Principal or the Board of Trustees.
All complaints are treated very seriously and need to be well considered before being made.
DAMAGE TO SCHOOL PROPERTY
The Board of Trustees ,have budgeted for the replacement of school items through fair wear and tear. Occasionally, breakages happen by deliberate or thoughtless actions. When this happens, parents will be advised of the circumstances in which the damage occurred and an account will be sent to recover the cost of the repair.

DISCIPLINE
Our aim at Alfriston School is to ensure that our pupils maintain high standards of behaviour. Staff will positively encourage children to follow school rules, to be polite, courteous and considerate. Senior pupils are expected to be responsible and mature; they should act as good role models for our younger pupils. Children who break school rules or behave in an unacceptable manner will be dealt with by the classroom teachers, the duty teacher and/or the senior staff as is appropriate.
Serious misbehaviour and/or repeated instances of a lesser nature will result in parents being informed of the problem and appropriate action being decided upon. The Education Act 1989, Section 13-19 deals with legislation specific to the suspension and expulsion of students.
