SPORTING OPPORTUNITIES
Physical Education and Sport at Alfriston School
Physical Education is the focus on movement and its contribution to the development of individuals and communities. Students learn that movement is integral to human expression and that it can contribute to people’s pleasure and enhance their lives. At Alfriston School we teach a range of movement and skills to different age groups supported by the Health and Physical Education Curriculum. At Alfriston School we are exceptionally lucky to be able to offer students the use of two swimming pools with a grandstand, the use of field for rugby and soccer, hard netball courts and the use of an all-weather sand based turf.
As a school, we offer and encourage participation in a range of small and large ball games, movement games, athletics, cross country, netball, swimming and tennis to name a few.
Alfriston School is part of a cluster group of country schools in our area called East Counties Country Schools (ECCS). This allows us to participate in a range of interschool competitions such as:
-
Swimming

Softball

-

-
Rugby

-
Netball
-
Rippa Rugby
-
Cross country
-

Often at these interschool competitions top players are selected to represent ECCS at a Counties and possibly Auckland level.
