2026 School Dates

We wish to advise that the 2026 Alfriston School dates have been changed after being advised schools will have 2 Curriculum Days available in 2026.
Alfriston School start date will be Monday 2nd February
Alfriston School close date will be Friday 11th December
The school office will be open Wednesday 28th January and Thursday 29th January 2pm – 6pm.

KINDO now has a new function where parents are able to set up automatic payments that best suit your budget. Please read the information below.

Measles

Reminder to parents, caregivers and the school community
-There is now measles in Te Tai Tokerau (Northland)
-Watch out for measles symptoms – fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes, and a
blotchy rash.
-To keep students home from school if they have any measles symptoms, and to
stay home and ring their doctor, or call Healthline for FREE on 0800 611 116.
-Students who are close contacts of a measles case should stay at home if they are
not considered immune. National Public Health Service will check this and advise.
-Check all whānau are immunised, and encourage them to catch up if not fully
immunised or not sure: info.health.nz/measles-immunity.

Sun Hats – Sun hats  required for Term 4

ALL LEARNERS REQUIRE A SUNHAT AT SCHOOLTHIS TERM.
THESE SHOULD BE WORD FOR BOTH BREAK TIMES AND WHEN THEY PARTICAPATE IN OUTDOOR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.

Events coming up…

Weetbix Tryathlon

We’ve received a limited number of free entry codes (up to 25) for the Sanitarium Weet-Bix TRYathlon, taking place in Manurewa on Monday 25 November.

If your child would like to take part, please get in touch with Mrs.Truman (struman@alfriston.school.nzto request a code.

Codes will be given on a first-come, first-served basis and one per family.

Please note that parents/caregivers are responsible for transporting and supervising their own children at the event.

Alfriston School will have a gazebo on site as a meeting point for our students and families
