Outdoor Education and Sports

Education Outside the Classroom events are a feature of the Alfriston School Curriculum. The school enjoys a supportive parent community who value the learning opportunities available to students attending school camps, trips and school wide events. In addition to the outdoor learning programmes in place for students across the school, the William Pike Challenge provides an outstanding opportunity for Year 8 students.

Alfriston School is part of a cluster group of schools in our region called East Counties Country Schools (ECCS). Students participate in a range of interschool sporting competitions including:

  • Athletics
  • Cricket
  • Cross Country
  • Futsal
  • Hockey
  • Ki o Rahi
  • Netball Rugby
  • Softball
  • Swimming
  • T-ball
  • Touch Rugby

The school facilities include two swimming pools, and a large all weather turf marked for hockey, netball and tennis. Inter school competitions are an opportunity for student selection through to Counties and Auckland level.
