Alfriston School – Kinetic Sand communication

As you may be aware, on 12/15 November the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) published a notification regarding a coloured sand product that may contain asbestos.

This is to inform you that this product was found sealed in a container in one of our Year 0/1 learning spaces. While it is a small quantity of sand and few learners have used the product we are following all guidance and precautions.

The health and safety of our learners, staff and wider community is our top priority so we are now putting together a plan to safely remove the product from our premises.

Rest assured we are working closely with the Ministry of Education and other agencies.
