Powhiri celebration and thank you

Kia ora Alfriston School whānau,

Yesterday we held our first powhiri to welcome new learners and their whānau into our learning community. Our learners were so proud and showed such passion whilst participating, knowing the significance of the event. Their efforts were recognised by both our manuhiri (visitors) and tangata whenua (people of the school). I want to thank everyone who came to be a part of this special occasion, it was truly appreciated. Also thank you to the people who provided kai to share and helped set up. If you weren’t able to attend this time you could join us for Term 4’s powhiri (date to be confirmed).
We look forward to sharing some photos of the event in next week’s eNews however I really wanted to thank our community promptly.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all next week.
PS: This sunshine is wonderful 🙂
